Minimum Requirements
To qualify for appointment as a Staff Nurse (Grade 1–3), applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 Certificate (Senior Certificate)
- Enrolled Nurse Certificate
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Staff Nurse
For Higher Grades:
- Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years of appropriate, recognizable experience after SANC registration.
- Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years of appropriate, recognizable experience after SANC registration.

Key Responsibilities
As a Staff Nurse, you will support the delivery of quality healthcare services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your main duties will include:
- Providing basic nursing care aligned with the scope of practice
- Participating in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
- Maintaining patient dignity and upholding Batho Pele principles
- Ensuring infection control and health and safety standards are maintained
- Using resources efficiently and effectively
- Contributing to a safe, therapeutic environment
- Assisting with accurate record-keeping and report submission
