Join us as a Patrolperson where you will be responsible for the application of routine security procedures within an Anglo Platinum Operation to ensure that employees and assets are protected and will also include emergency prevention duties.

Job Description:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Follow work instructions
  • Ensure proper understanding of the required actions
  • Apply recognized work and security standards
  • Conduct allocated patrols or checkpoint duties
  • Patrol on foot or by vehicle as applicable
  • Gather information that could support risk management
  • Respond to alarms and take appropriate action
  • Monitor performance and enforce access controls
  • Support risk management
  • Ensure that security tasks are completed to the required quality standards
  • When a security issue is observed take appropriate action within the procedures
  • Effectively use allocated equipment such as radios and telephones
  • Identify and report all irregularities to the Supervisor
  • Effective two-way communication with team members and visitors
  • Report to supervisor when task complete.
  • Promote security awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying problems with work practices.
  • Maintains facilities, equipment, and personal image up to a high standard of presentation.
  • Support effective teamwork.
  • Participate in required meetings including safety, health, and environment initiatives.
  • Accurately complete role administration requirements.
  • Gathers information through cultivating sources.
  • To arrest all transgressors within the law.
  • Attend disciplinary inquiries as a witness/complainant.

This role is a band 9 Level reporting to the Protection Services Officer.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Registered with the PSIRA grade C
  • Firearm Competency
  • Valid driver’s licence code B

Knowledge, Skills experience required:

  • Experience as a patrolperson or equivalent will be an advantage
  • Computer literacy
