Minimum Required Qualification:
  • Grade 12 or NQF 4 qualification with Maths
The Appointee should:
  • Chamber of Mines Draughting Certificate or • Diploma / Certificate in CAD and Panel Interview or • Diploma / Certificate in GIS and Panel Interview
  • 60 Months experience with a Certificate in CAD or 36 months experience with a Certificate in GIS. 12 Months experience in a mining environment
  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.
  • Valid driver’s license (if applicable).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draughting • Produces required plans and work outputs based on draughting skills and applying relevant technology ensuring that legal requirements are adhered to according to standards and procedures. • Applies appropriate CAD technology and methodologies by coordinating and integrating the service with operational, Mineral Resource Management, and survey unit inputs, requirements, and plans. • Maintain appropriate document management, and record keeping supporting Survey Draughting requirements (e.g., survey records, survey plans, inventory of plans, interpretation of data). • Control and manage printing budget – Maintain equipment, manage consumables, and minimize wastage. • Liaise and manage all DMRE Inspection – Ensuring all plans and inventories meet the appropriate quality and standard for the operational and legal requirements set out by the DMRE. Operations • Provide computer-aided drafting (CAD) support services to the MRM. • Generate and maintain Area of Responsibility (AOR) plans. • Generate and administer CAD Drawings – Microstation and AutoCAD platform drawings for mining operations. • Resolve incomplete details through re-design modifying or editing existing designs. • Make minor mathematical calculations. • Perform CAD data sourcing, creation, and editing. • Perform CAD file management and integration into the Database. • Assist all departments where necessary with plans. Stakeholder Relations • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organization and externally at all levels and cross-functionally. • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders. Financial Management • Ensures that costs are controlled, and wastage of resources is eliminated by working within prescribed budgets. Reports deviations to Supervisor. Building a values-based organizational culture • Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment-specific organizational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment. ESG Compliance • Align to international responsible mining principles. • SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs). • SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative. • US PGM Operations: Enhance together for ICCM principles.
