Internship Opportunity Details

This 12-month internship is aimed at unemployed youth with technical qualifications who are eager to gain workplace experience. The start date for the successful candidate is May 2025.

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications:
    • Grade 12 (Matric)
    • N6 or higher-level qualification in one of the following fields:
      • Engineering
      • Electronics
      • Electrical
      • Fitting & Turning
      • Boilermaking
  • Communication Skills:
    • Strong English proficiency (both verbal and written).
    • Ability to interact effectively with team members and external service providers.
  • Technical and Administrative Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
    • Experience with technical repair and maintenance will be an advantage.

Primary Responsibilities

During the internship, the selected candidate will work in the Technical Services Section and assist in various technical and administrative functions. The primary tasks include:

Remote work solutions

1. Player Repair & Maintenance

  • Assist with troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of specialized audio players used by visually impaired members.

2. Technical Support

  • Provide basic technical assistance within the Technical Services Section.

3. Administrative Functions

  • Handle documentation, record-keeping, and other administrative tasks related to technical services.

4. Inventory Management

  • Assist in tracking, managing, and maintaining technical equipment and spare parts.

5. Health & Safety Compliance

  • Gain exposure to workplace safety protocols and help ensure compliance with safety regulations.

6. General Support

  • Participate in other tasks to support the efficient operation of the Technical Services Section.
