Job Purpose:

The Assistant Manager for the Eastern & Western Cape Regional Support role is a crucial position within AgriSETA, aimed at coordinating learning programmes and overseeing their implementation in the Eastern and Western Cape regions. The position is responsible for supporting rural agricultural structures and ensuring that mentorship and skills development programmes are running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Supports and coordinates skills development programmes in the Eastern and Western Cape, working closely with government departments, commodity organisations, and rural communities involved in land reform and agricultural development.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Establishes and participates in skills development forums to promote support for rural agricultural structures through mentorship programmes.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitors the implementation of approved mentorship projects, learning programmes, and AgriSETA-funded initiatives across the provinces. This includes site verification, compliance checks, and weekly site visits to ensure projects are on track.
  • Reporting: Prepares regular reports and responses to provincial enquiries, ensuring all activities are recorded and communicated effectively to stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree (NQF Level 7) or equivalent in Public AdministrationAgriculture, or Community Development.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in administration and monitoring of learning programmes.
  • 2+ years of project management experience.

Required Competencies:

  • Strong skills in project monitoring, business writing, stakeholder management, and presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the Eastern and Western Cape.

2. Supply Chain Management Officer

Job Purpose:

The Supply Chain Management Officer is a vital position that ensures AgriSETA’s procurement processes are in line with relevant legislation and policies. The officer will manage the procurement of goods and services and ensure compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and the Preferential Policy Framework Act.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Management: Responsible for sourcing quotations, managing purchase orders, and ensuring compliance with all procurement regulations.
  • Bid Administration: Assists in the preparation of tender documents, scoring of bids, and providing administrative support to bidding committees.
  • Contract Management: Prepares Service Level Agreements (SLAs), ensuring contracts are properly vetted and signed before services commence.
  • Travel Management: Coordinates travel arrangements for staff and stakeholders, ensuring that all logistics comply with the National Travel Policy Framework.
  • Stock Control: Oversees the management of AgriSETA’s stores, ensuring inventory is well-maintained and that necessary supplies are replenished in time.
  • Reporting: Regularly submits reports on procurement activities to the Supply Chain Manager and ensures all records are updated.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • NQF 6 in Supply Chain ManagementLogistics, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management.

Required Competencies:

  • Proficiency in computer literacycommunication, and knowledge of applicable policies and procedures related to supply chain management.
  • A team-oriented approach and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
