Administrator Job Description

The Administrator (P13): E-Learning will play a pivotal role in providing efficient and effective support for E-Learning within the CTLPD. This role involves administering e-learning resource materials, supporting the Learning Management System (LMS), managing databases, providing user education and training, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

1. Administer E-Learning Resource Materials: Core Curriculum and Computer Literacy

  • Support the Manager in ensuring the availability of interactive and innovative e-learning resource materials.
  • Assist with curriculum content and coordinate the computer literacy component of the first-year core-curriculum module.
  • Manage content for the computer literacy online platform for the first-year core curriculum module.
  • Liaise with academic literacy lecturers on assessment issues and student progress.
  • Assist with editing and proofreading new resources.

2. Learning Management System (LMS) Support

  • Ensure the availability of teaching and learning video content material for academic staff on how to use Moodle.
  • Identify e-tools and new approaches to e-learning.
  • Support academic staff in effectively implementing the LMS.
  • Manage all digital teaching and learning content developed by SPU.

3. Database Management

  • Establish efficient file sharing, updating, and archival processes.
  • Ensure secure databases and disaster recovery plans are in place.

4. User Education and Training

  • Provide training for e-tutors and assist with user support for students on the online learning platform.
  • Assist with the orientation of new staff and students on e-learning systems.
  • Provide training for academic staff on the online teaching and learning platform.

5. Client Satisfaction

  • Measure and monitor user satisfaction indicators and address any issues of concern.

6. Personal/Professional Development

  • Stay abreast of developments within e-learning and their implications for SPU.

7. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Contribute to data generation and collection for research into teaching and learning to advance and develop e-learning.
  • Prepare relevant operational reports as required.
  • Research and implement best practices.
  • Communicate and consult with relevant stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Diploma.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
  • 3-4 years of related experience.
  • Computer literacy.
