- Position: Strategic Procurement Officer

Key Responsibilities
The Strategic Procurement Officer will play a critical role in overseeing CSA’s procurement processes. Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the Development of the Departmental Strategy
- Contributing to the development of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategy for CSA.
- Developing business plans in collaboration with the Project Management Office (PMO).
- Implementing procurement policies and providing necessary training to internal stakeholders.
- Procurement Management
- Participating in tender committee meetings and ensuring that meeting documentation is complete, including reports, sign-offs, and other key documents.
- Reviewing and approving purchase requisitions and Purchase Orders (POs) in alignment with CSA’s policies.
- Verifying the accuracy and completeness of purchase orders and ensuring payments are made to suppliers as per agreed terms.
- Coordination and Facilitation of Enterprise and Supplier Development
- Supporting supplier and enterprise development efforts, with a focus on including small businesses in the cricket industry.
- Monitoring procurement spending to ensure it aligns with budget and organizational needs.
- Ensuring that the targets set for supplier categories like Black-Owned, Women-Owned, and other BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) initiatives are met.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Liaising with various departments within CSA to ensure the procurement plan is executed efficiently.
- Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensuring proper auditing and monitoring of procurement processes and policies within CSA.
- Reporting
- Compiling reports on procurement activities, including supplier performance and progress towards BEE targets.
- Providing regular updates on procurement spending to senior management and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for the position, candidates must meet the following essential qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, SCM, Finance, Logistics, or Business Management (NQF7).
- Honours Degree in related fields would be an advantage.
- A Project Management Certificate is desirable.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in procurement, particularly in the supply chain and vendor management sectors.
- At least 4 years of BEE experience, with a solid understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks.
- A Code 8 driver’s license is required.
Competencies and Skills
In addition to the qualifications, candidates should possess the following skills and competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of procurement and financial management systems (Fraxiom and Pastel Evolution are an advantage).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with internal teams to ensure procurement requirements are met.
- Project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, including the ability to prepare quarterly and annual reports.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager and will be based at CSA’s head office in Melrose Estate, Johannesburg. The role may require travel and working beyond normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays.
