POST 01/03 : DEPUTY DIRECTOR: MONITORING AND EVALUATION REF NO:
Q9/2025/01
SALARY: R849 702 per annum (Level 11)
CENTRE: Pretoria
REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant NQF level 7 qualification in Public Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience at the Assistant Director level in Performance Monitoring and Evaluation.
Knowledge:
- Comprehensive understanding of government M&E processes.
- Proficiency in the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, Policy Framework for Government-wide M&E System, Framework for Managing Performance Information, and Framework for Strategic Plans and Annual Performance Plans.
- Familiarity with the Public Audit Act.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Analytical thinking and computer literacy.
- Effective planning and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
DUTIES:
- Plan and manage departmental performance monitoring and evaluation activities.
- Develop, review, and implement the Monitoring and Evaluation Strategy.
- Compile, consolidate, and validate annual performance reports on the Annual Performance Plan’s implementation.
- Analyze quarterly performance reports and monitor the department’s Strategic Plan implementation.
- Conduct provincial visits to assess performance levels.
- Coordinate information for the Management Performance Assessment Tool (MPAT) for Strategic Management.
- Oversee the implementation of MPAT development plans.
- Assist in monitoring the implementation of recommendations from Internal Audit and the Auditor-General SA concerning performance information management.
- Manage and supervise staff effectively.

GRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME
CLOSING DATE: 24 January 2025
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is offering opportunities to unemployed South African graduates who have not yet gained work experience in their respective fields.
Application Guidelines:
- Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 35 as of the start date of the placement.
- Applications must include a completed and signed Z83 Form (available at Public Service Departments or online at www.gov.za/documents) and a detailed CV.
- Copies of qualifications and supporting documents are not required at this stage.
- Use the new Z83 form; applications using the old Z83 form will not be considered.
Additional Requirements for Shortlisted Candidates:
- Affidavit confirming no prior participation in a similar program.
- Non-RSA citizens must provide a SAQA evaluation certificate (if shortlisted).

- Shortlisted candidates for Senior Management Service (SMS) posts will undergo a technical competency exercise to assess job-related skills.
- Following the interview and competency exercise, recommended candidates will attend a DPSA SMS competency assessment.
- SMS-level candidates must complete the Senior Management Pre-entry Programme endorsed by the National School of Government.
