POST 1: Head of Clinical Department (Grade 1)

Minimum Requirements:

A) Qualifications

• A medical qualification that allows registration with the HPCSA as a Medical or Dental Practitioner and Specialist in Independent Practice.
• Current registration with HPCSA in the relevant specialty.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist in the relevant discipline.
• Additional advantages:
  • Supervision of MMed registrar dissertations (attach proof: cover page & abstract).

A) Qualifications

• Current HPCSA registration in the appropriate medical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Medical Specialist/Sub-specialist.

  • For Interventional Radiology:
    • Hands-on experience with therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.

3. Interview and Assessment Process:

4. Terms and Conditions of Employment:

• Successful candidates for permanent positions will undergo a 12-month probationary period.
• The Department reserves the right to confirm or terminate permanency based on performance during probation.
• Posts are based on service delivery needs; employee-initiated transfers will not be considered.
• Positions for health professionals at production levels (entry-level clinical posts) will remain open for up to 12 months, as long as posts and funding are available.
