Job Summary

The Admin Officer: Vetting will be responsible for administering and managing the vetting application process, maintaining vetting databases, and liaising with key security agencies such as the State Security Agency (SSA), SAPS, and designated credit bureaus. The role plays a critical part in ensuring that only suitably cleared personnel gain access to sensitive and classified information within the department.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

  • A 3-year National Diploma or Degree in Security Risk Management or an equivalent NQF Level 6/7 qualification as recognised by SAQA.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in security services or vetting administration.
  • Proven knowledge of vetting procedures and security clearance policies.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Competent in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Experience working with vetting databases (e.g. SVIS – Security Vetting Information System).

  • Familiarity with the Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS)
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, your duties will include:

  • Issuing and receiving Z204 application forms for vetting purposes
  • Capturing vetting forms on the Security Vetting Information System (SVIS)
  • Updating, monitoring, and maintaining the vetting database/status
  • Handling inquiries about security clearance application statuses
  • Generating statistics and progress reports related to vetting applications
  • Managing logistics for the collection and delivery of security documents
  • Building relationships and liaising with key external stakeholders such as:
    • South African Police Service (SAPS)
    • State Security Agency (SSA)
    • Credit Bureaus
