Minimum Requirements
To be considered for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 / Senior Certificate
- Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse
Skills and Competencies
Successful candidates should demonstrate:
- Sound knowledge of Public Service Acts, policies, and regulations
- Familiarity with the Code of Conduct, Labour Relations, and conflict management procedures
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
- Strong understanding of Batho Pele Principles and the Patient Rights Charter
- Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Key Performance Areas
As a Professional Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering quality nursing care and adhering to clinical standards
- Developing and implementing nursing care plans
- Participating in clinical audits and quality improvement programmes
- Upholding the Batho Pele principles and ensuring patient rights are respected
- Maintaining legally compliant and accurate patient records
- Participating in the training and mentoring of staff, students, and patients
- Enforcing discipline and managing grievances in line with applicable procedures
