LOCATION: Employee Health and Wellness: Decentralised, Upington, Northern Cape
LEVEL OF REMUNERATION: (Band B1) R351 570 per annum

Generic Requirements:

  • The applicant must demonstrate competence in the specific duties of the post.
  • Must possess a Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
  • Must be proficient in at least two official languages, including English.
  • Must be a South African citizen.
  • Must have no criminal record or pending criminal/departmental cases.
  • Computer literacy is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must possess analytical, self-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be proficient in report writing, presentations, and development.
  • Must hold at least a valid light driver’s license.

Additional Requirements:

  • Applicants must hold an accredited Honors or Master’s degree in Psychology, at NQF Level 7 or higher.
  • Provide proof of academic records from recognized (SAQA accredited) institutions.
  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as a Registered Counsellor, Psychometrist, or Psychologist, and provide proof of valid registration for 2024/2025.
  • Experience as a Registered Counsellor/Psychometrist is a plus.

Core Functions:

  • Provide psychological interventions, including counseling, psychotherapy, trauma management, and suicide prevention.
  • Deliver integrated Employee Health and Wellness services to SAPS employees.
  • Promote the mental well-being of SAPS members through psychological, emotional, personal, and work interventions.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary Employee Health and Wellness team.
  • Assist with psychometric testing, organizational diagnosis, and team-building initiatives.
  • Manage projects and mental health-related initiatives.
  • Market psychological services within the organization.
  • Facilitate assessment centers.
  • Manage human, physical, and financial resources.
  • Assist in the development of organizational norms, standards, and procedures.
  • Must be willing to travel and work extended hours.
