Requirements

Generic Requirements:

  • Competency in post-specific functions.
  • Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
  • Proficiency in at least two official languages, including English.

Additional Requirements:

  • A Degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, or Nursing with in-depth knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB, and non-communicable diseases.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Registration with a relevant professional council with proof of paid fees for 2024/2025.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and administrative skills.
  • Familiarity with key legislative frameworks, including:

Core Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain interventions for HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB, and non-communicable diseases at stations and units across Gauteng.
  • Facilitate HIV and wellness support groups and the Peer Education Programme.
  • Coordinate health and wellness events in collaboration with healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with information security standards.
  • Organize awareness sessions and training related to Quality of Work Life initiatives.
  • Manage allocated physical, human, and financial resources.
  • Conduct research, monitoring, and evaluation processes.

  • Deliver integrated employee health and wellness services for SAPS staff.
  • Improve members’ mental well-being through psychological and emotional interventions.
  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team for Employee Health and Wellness.
  • Assist with psychometric testing and organizational diagnoses.
  • Facilitate team-building initiatives and assessment centers.
  • Manage mental health-related projects and initiatives.
  • Market psychological services and develop organizational norms, standards, and procedures.
  • Manage human, physical, and financial resources.
  • Be willing to travel and work extended hours when necessary.
