Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • 3–5 years of relevant HR experience
  • Solid knowledge of:
    • Conditions of service
    • Appointments, terminations, leave, IODs, and salary adjustments
    • PERSAL system
  • Understanding of HR regulations in education and the public sector
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
  • Valid South African driver’s license

Key Duties

  • Manage all PERSAL personnel transactions (appointments, terminations, leave, etc.)
  • Facilitate allowances, pension benefits, medical aid, and other employee services
  • Maintain and update HR records and databases
  • Approve or disapprove HR transactions on PERSAL
  • Provide advisory support to district HR staff
  • Train employees on HR policies, particularly around terminations
  • Compile and submit monthly HR reports
  • Supervise and manage junior HR staff
