The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) requires an enthusiastic, dedicated, professional, and responsible person to manage procurement contracts with suppliers manage the supply chain process, and implement supply chain management policies while overseeing the procurement process.
A degree in Supply Chain Management, Financial Sciences, Logistics, or equivalent qualification with NQF 7 . A postgraduate degree or equivalent degree at NQF 8 will be an added advantage. This position also requires 6 years of work experience in the relevant field, 3 years of which should be at the supervisory level.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: extensive knowledge of legislation, policies, procedures, processes, practices, systems, and frameworks related to supply chain management is essential; comprehensive experience in procurement systems particularly related to Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) will be advantageous; in-depth knowledge and experience in the implementation of Public Finance Management Act, Treasury Regulations, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice are essential; advanced planning, organizing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); business report writing skills; people management skills; excellent computer literacy and experience in the application of software tools including (Ms. Word, MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, and Outlook) will be advantageous. The possession of a valid driver’s license with at least one year of practical driving experience and a willingness to travel is essential.
Key Performance Responsibilities include:
- Ensure implementation of Contract, Purchase Order, and invoice management policies
- Manage contracts, purchase orders, and invoicprocessess and systems
- Facilitate the reporting of contracts, Purchase Orders, and invoices management relating to procurement activities

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) is looking for a self-motivated individual to render support to maintain the natural areas of the garden (Estate) in terms of fire, perimeter, erosion, and invasive control.
This position requires a Grade 10, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 2 with 3 years of work experience in the relevant field, OR Grade 12, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 4 with 2 years of work experience in the relevant field. A Higher Education Qualification, Job Specific Qualification, or equivalent qualification at NQF 5 will be an added advantage.
The following competencies are required for the candidate to be successful in this position: knowledge of basic conservation, alien invasive control, fence maintenance, plants, and horticultural motorized equipment e.g. Chain saw, Ride lawn mower; Brush-cutter, etc.
Key Performance Responsibilities include:
- Attend to alien and invasive control and herbicide application.
- Attend to perimeter fence maintenance.
- Attend to reinstatement, infrastructure maintenance, and veld fire control
- Provide customer Service; and
- Assist in risk and safety management.
