1. Senior Lecturer: Nursing (P7) – Permanent

Minimum Qualifications:
- PhD or Doctorate in Nursing or Health Sciences
- Master’s in Nursing
- SANC registration (Nursing Education + Specialist Programme)
- NQF Level 8 in Nursing Administration/Health Services Management (advantageous)
Experience:
- 5+ years teaching experience in higher education
- 5 research units in 5 years (or 3 units in 3 years) in DHET-accredited journals
- Honours-level supervision experience
- Community engagement involvement
Key Responsibilities:
- Lecture and assess undergrad/postgrad students
- Develop/update curriculum
- Supervise postgrad students
- Lead departmental activities: research, CPD, community engagement, QA
- Involve in professional bodies, academic citizenship, external examining
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong academic leadership and administration
- Clinical and research skills
- Digital literacy (Moodle, MS Teams, Zoom)
- Excellent communication and teamwork
2. Associate Professor / Professor: Nursing (P6/P5) – Permanent

- PhD in Nursing or Health Sciences
- Master’s in Nursing

Associate Professor Requirements:
- 8+ years university lecturing experience
- 6 DHET research units in 5 years
- NRF C rating (advantageous)
- Supervised Master’s (Doctoral supervision is a bonus)
- Academic leadership & curriculum development experience
- Research grants & community engagement involvement
Professor Requirements:
- 10+ years university lecturing experience
- 7 DHET research units in 5 years
- NRF C rating required
- Doctoral and Master’s supervision
- Proven record in research grants, curriculum leadership, and strategic initiatives
Key Responsibilities (Both Levels):
- Academic leadership, strategic development
- Teach & assess undergrad/postgrad students
- Supervise Master’s and PhD students
- Lead research, community engagement, curriculum development
- Mentor junior staff, manage CE projects, initiate partnerships
- Serve as examiner/moderator nationally/internationally
Skills & Competencies:
- Research, leadership, change management
- Curriculum design, moderation
- Strong digital and academic literacy
- Strategic thinking and emotional intelligence
