Position Overview
Job Title: Chief Administration Clerk
Salary: R325,101 per annum

Location: Across various GDE district offices and Head Office (Johannesburg)
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate)
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in administrative or clerical roles
- Sound knowledge of:
- Public Service Act
- Batho Pele Principles
- Public Service Regulations
- Proficiency in BAS and LOGIS
- Strong planning, organizing, communication, and supervisory skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Chief Admin Clerk, you will supervise office support operations, ensure accurate records, and assist in finance, HR, and procurement.
Core Functions Include:
- Supervise general administrative support
- Maintain registers, filing systems, and correspondence records
- Handle procurement, obtain quotations, and manage stock of stationery
- Maintain asset registers and control inventory
- Supervise HR admin tasks (leave, travel, personnel matters)
- Process financial claims, update expenditure records, and manage petty cash
- Ensure high-quality staff performance and assess outputs
